Last Saturday we photographed a wedding at the magnificent Brompton Oratory, a stunning neo-classical Roman Catholic church in Knightsbridge, London. Following the ceremony we went with the bride and groom to the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park to take some outdoor shots of the newlyweds. Despite the windy and wintery London weather we got some really great photos of the couple posing with the Royal Albert Hall in the background and strolling in the park.
After some delicious refreshments (mini banoffee pies anyone?) at the reception and a funny yet gracious speech from the groom we were off again to get some shots outside Harrods. Here we got some more beautiful photos of the couple posing with the glitzy department store and all its sparkling christmas lights in the background. For these shots the bride had changed into an exquisite traditional Chinese dress which garnered lots of approval from the many Christmas shoppers and passersby stopping to get a peak.
On the way back to the hotel for dinner we spotted a merry-go-round and ice rink outside the Natural History Museum and decided the make an impromptu stop. The man operating the merry-go-round very kindly gave the happy couple a free ride. After the spontaneous festive fun it was off to the dinner party to continue celebrating with the couple’s family and friends.
It was a magical day and we were very honoured to be a part of it. We got some beautiful shots that we hope the clients will treasure for the rest of their lives together.
